To promote their Express Yourself Gala and Fashion Show, Nothing Without a Company commissioned a poster featuring artist and queer activist Darling Shear.
Basically, Darling is awesome - she has this transcendent, confident energy - and I wanted to capture those angelic qualities in her portrait.
Using the photos, I created a digital outline highlighting some key details, then brought her to life with some brush strokes.
Wanting to stay true to NWaC's hand-made street art aesthetic, I introduced some splashy finishing touches, and the deed was done!
